The Camera & Imaging Products Association says it expects to ship almost 110 million cameras in 2010, up 3.8 percent from the prior year.
Shipments worldwide totaled 106 million in 2009, down 11.6
percent from the 119 million shipped in 2008.
Interchangeable lens cameras rose 2.3 percent to 10 million
units shipped in 2009, and will grow 11.1 percent to 11 million units in 2010,
CIPA predicts.
